HW #16, ARIS Getting Things Straight Qs, Tuesday, March 27

Read Act 1, Scene 1 of A Raisin in the Sun (ARIS) and complete the questions here. Responses must be typed and written in detailed, complete sentences.

Also, complete make-up work! Only 2 and a 1/2 weeks left in the session!

HW #15 Poem Reponse Qs, Monday, March 26

Read "Let America Be America Again" by Langston Hughes and answer the questions on the class handout. Answers must be typed and written in 2-3 complete sentences.

Study for vocab and DOAS quiz on Thursday, March 22

There will be a vocab quiz on spelling, definitions and sentences.

There will also be a few questions from the "Act 2: Getting Things Straight" handout. You will complete a final Delve-in question based on themes of the play. Use handout #13 to pick your theme and come up with the quotes you will use in your response.

For those who have submitted your Delve-in question, you will need to make edits and turn in the new draft tomorrow. If you have not yet completed your Delve-in question, you must complete that tonight.

HW #10 IRP week 3, and review for DOAS Act 1 quiz, Thursday, March 15

Read your independent book! Complete IRP week 3 response. Be sure to type, double-space and meet minimum word requirement.

Also, review Act 1 of Death of a Salesman. There will be a brief quiz on Monday. Use the "Getting Things Straight" handout as a guide.

HW #9 Delve-in Question for DOAS Act 1

Use the handout/organizer provided in class to help you make a claim about one of the themes of Act 1 and type a thoughtful and well-supported paragraph explaining your opinion. Be sure you paragraph includes three quotes from Act 1. You must introduce and then explain how each quote supports your opinion. Here is the handout and the organizer in case you need an extra copy.

HW #8 DOAS Getting Things Straight, Act 1, Monday, March 12

Use a separate sheet of paper to type your responses to the "Getting Things Straight" handout. Use your notes from the movie and refer back to the text of Act 1 in your book to answer. You must answer each question and each part of each question.

Choose your new IRP book and bring it to class on Monday to show me. Complete 100 word response about why you chose this book. All IRP responses this session must be typed and double-spaced. Any responses that are full of spelling and grammar mistakes will be need to be revised.
